Begin Anywhere - start with small steps
My pilates client and dear friend shared this quote she had given to her daughter:
Begin anywhere.
It’s so simple yet so true.
So many people are confused about where to begin to feel better in their bodies.
These days, the world of health and wellness can seem overwhelming and noisy. There are many voices and opinions, not to mention products promoted as necessary to achieve great health. It can seem both complicated and elusive.
- $30 Erewhon smoothie
- $300 Alo Yoga sweatpants
- The latest trendiest supplement. No, you don’t need colostrum or sea moss
- An elimination diet
- Expensive testing for hormones, gut health, food sensitivities, heavy metals
Remember, great health is not about expensive smoothies, complicated meal plans or trendy supplements. It's about simple, repeatable behaviors that anyone can adopt:
- Getting outside each morning and spending time in sunlight will help set your sleep-wake cycle.
- Drink half your body weight in ounces of filtered water. Most people are dehydrated.
- Take three cleansing breaths when you feel overwhelmed or stressed
- Go to bed 15 minutes earlier and put your phone away an hour before bed - the blue light disrupts your sleep
- Cook a simple meal at home with protein, non-starchy vegetables, a grain or potato, and a healthy fat (put a little butter on the potato)
- Eat slowly and chew your food - make sure you’re in a calm state
- Take a 30-minute walk, or better yet, with a friend or loved one
My practice clients are getting great results from taking action and building small habits into their day. Here are the incredible changes they're experiencing:
- Improved blood sugar handling - no more spikes and crashes
- No more afternoon energy slumps
- Improved digestion - no more bloating
- Less brain fog and fatigue
- Pain free periods
If you’ve been struggling with symptoms and trying to find solutions on your own, I would love to help. I know how frustrating it can be. Hit reply, and let’s set up a time to talk.
Pick just one thing from the list above. Begin anywhere. Great health doesn’t have to be complicated.
Friday is Aunt and Uncle's Day! I have two nephews and two nieces that I love and adore. I'm so very proud of them and I always look forward to time spent with them. My brother and sister in law have done an amazing job raising them. I get all the benefit with none of the hard work.
